Selling a home in the winter presents a much better opportunity than spring. The biggest advantage to listing your home in the winter is lack of competition. Savvy homeowners listing their house for sale in the winter will find less inventory to compete with thus putting their property in a prime position for multiple offers and higher sale price.
Some homeowners may be skeptical,especially here in Massachusetts where we see lots of snow. However, this year we have seen a near record snow fall and they two properties I have listed during this crazy weather sold in less than a week and both had multiple offers! I even held an open house during one of these snow storms and we had a great turnout. What that shows is that serious buyers will do whatever it takes to find and buy a home no matter how much snow is falling!
